Summer’s evening from our porch at 1 Park Road in Windermere

There’s nothing like sitting on a summer’s evening from our porch at 1 Park Road in Windermere and  enjoying the sights and sounds on a balmy summers evening Sitting in our porch with a glass of rosewith a glass  of  chilled rose or a Pimms or in my case a nice bottle of Belgium beer-something  like a Rochefort 10 or  a Blue Chimay- both Trappist Belgium beers

The beck running down from the hills down to the lake, blackbirds, swallows and thrushes singing and chattering to each other only interrupted by “Howzthat” from the cricket match in the park.

In the distance I can see a cyclist coming up the hill struggling a bit but with a determined look as taxis whiz past to get their next booking probably from the station.

There’s a magnificent copper tree down the road Beautiful copper beech tree gleaning the late summer’s sun. Families walk past with their children intently talking, people who are staying in local bed and breakfasts- and here at 1 Park Road a bed and breakfast in Windermere- stroll along hand in hand all dressed up to go for a nice meal maybe a Wild and Co or Francines Windermere for their meal; a man on his mobile walks past and his supermarket bag of crisps and wine scuffs against his leg……. but the beck continues to rush down to the lake and birds still sing.

The cyclist…… he’s made it
