Gilpin Lodge

A culinary delight to add to your special stay in the Lake District

Gilpin Lodge is a small family run hotel and restaurant about 10 minutes drive from 1 Park Road. Philip and Mary are happy to take you to collect your car the following day so you can enjoy their wonderful cuisine and fine wines.

Like Wild and Co and Holbeck Ghyll, Philip and Mary have eaten at Gilpin several times and highly recommend it.

The food is eaten within a relaxing atmosphere with friendly but attentive service, and there is a walk-in wine cellar that you are welcome to browse their 200 or so wines.

Phil Cubin, the head chef, blends a mixture of traditional and contemporary English cuisine using local seasonal produce, and the sommelier Ziggy Grinbergs has carefully matched wines to go with each dish.
