I read somewhere that sausage sales especially premium sausages are on the rise. Many guest here at our boutique hotel in the lake district, 1 Park Road Luxury Boutique Bed and Breakfast in The lake District many guests comment on our sausages as they are hand made by our local butcher- Huddlestones in Windermere. Contrast this with a bed and breakfast we once lived next door to who deep fried frozen sausages- nice!

In times gone by sausages was the way to preserve meat but they may be on the up but with people preferring quality sausages A survey from 2011 suggested that the region where the most Cumberland sausages are sold is in Sussex- especially Eastbourne, Horsham and Shoreham. The city with the highest sales of sausages is Bristol although perhaps understandably the further north you come the more sausages are sold.
